Replacing probe head

I have an Accura 2   12/18/10 with a Vast RTS probe head. do I need to power down the cmm to replace this head or just shut the drives off??

If you're talking about changing from one sensor type to another, it is my understanding that you only need to disconnect from the CMM by closing the traffic light window.  Obviously, this means you cannot have any measurement plans open.
