[An...]
Is it possible to turn off air scanning for a selected feature? Thanks in advance!
[Mi...]
It is technically possible to disable it, for the entire program, not a specific feature. It's such a bad idea that I'm not going to say how, but it's buried, for good reason. The Scanning Optimization protects you from bad results. Your better course of action will likely be to improve the program so it can measure the feature in question without risking air scanning. Slowing down, using a more correct nominals, using Measurement Ref/secondary alignments/ or formula's to help the CMM find the features in question. [Ha...]
Disabling the scanning optimization will produce incorrect results. I would recommend using a measurement reference (Own Geometry) as one possible option if the features in question are significantly displaced. https://portal.zeiss.com/knowledge-base?id=1262073
[An...]
Thanks for the answers, I knew it was a bad idea but was curious what the difference would be since the stylus was making contact with the part the entire time. I will just trust Zeiss on this
