CAD file will not load Calypso 2021

Hi all,

I am having some trouble loading CAD models into Calypso 2021. This is a fresh install along with service packs on a new PC (the old one was working properly prior to the switchover).

We typically work with .SAT file types so I have not tried to import other CAD types. Would this be worthwhile?

Current Calypso version is 7.2.20 (27.02.2023)

Thank you.

Don

Donald - I'm wondering if maybe the SolidWorks version is not supported in CALYPSO 2021 since it's a few years old and about a year out of support, so if it's a newer version of SolidWorks, you may not be able to pull those models into CALYPSO 2021. You can check the compatibility under ? - Release Info then search for SoldWorks and you'll be able to see the supported versions.

Confirmed My prior PC was running SW 2022 and I am now on 2024. According to the release info, Calypso 2021 supports SoldWorks 98-2022. I had a coworker save the file under his 2022 version and Calypso accepted it.

In Solidworks, when choose to save as an ACIS (*.sat), select the Options button and choose which version you want to save it as.

I'm running Solidworks 2024 and Calypso 2024 and I have to save it down to at least version 20.

We have other CMM's running much older versions of Calypso (one as old 2013) and I have to save the files as version 12 to get them to load correctly in the older versions of Calypso.

You're the man Owen! After a few test saves I was able to determine that Calypso 2021 will read ACIS versions 17.0 and lower. This would be great information to be included in the release info that Caitlin had pointed out earlier.

Thanks everyone!

My apologies for the oversight Martin. I had assumed you were referring to the Calypso service pack version 27 that I had mentioned. I was unaware that ACIS files could be saved as different versions within SolidWorks as well. Thanks for clarifying!
