[Co...]
Hey everyone! I wondered if anyone could guide me through how they would create a slot on a CAD model of a rounded slot that has a .002 Surface Profile to a single datum. I see the Profile of a Surface doesn't let me use Slot as an option to choose under the features. Wondered if anyone had any advice here. Very rough draft attached of what I am looking to do. [Ri...]
If you wanted to measure as a singular slot, the new GD&T (2023+) will allow you do perform a Profile of a Line and use a Slot. If you want Surface Profile, you could still measure it with the Slot Feature, but just do one at same the top and the bottom, then you could create a Free-Form surface to recall the feature points of the two Slots.
[Ma...]
I am wondering if you really need to measure whole slot. By this callout they are asking for perpendicularity to plane R. Is this sketch same as on drawing or is there little circle on arrow line ( this will tell they want to have profile callout on all sides of slot ) - at least on ISO - without anything ( just what you posted ú it would apply only on face where arrow is pointing.

[Je...]
Hi Please sign in to view this username. . Please sign in to view this username. is right on target. A slot in Calypso is considered a 2D feature when it comes to profile evaluation (which is interesting considering the feature window allows you to specify depth). It's best to decide if you want to evaluate the slot at different depths independently or as a singular freeform feature. When I need to evaluate profile of a surface, I usually scan the points in curve features a different depths and recall those points into a freeform feature. If I could take multiple depths almost like you could a cylinder with 3 circles to form it. Take 3 slots to form the 3d shape of your slot (different depths) then recall the feature into a freeform if it would work.
[Co...]
Just wondering if anyone had any advice here. I used an offline seat to create the Freeform feature of the slot I needed, then I went to my Contura G2 and I went to run the part only to realize the G2 doesn't have Freeform. It said it can't run this feature without the license. Do you have any suggestion/is there a workaround for this? I had thought that if I programmed it at my offline seat, I would be able to run it there but not modify it there but that was not the case. Thanks!
[Je...]
Please sign in to view this username. I don't have a solution, but I feel strongly that this is a situation Zeiss should accommodate. Other software such as QVI's Zone3 provide scaled down operator-mode versions to run all functions and features that were created offline on a fully-licensed Pro version. This model allows the customer to right-size their licenses.
