Issue with Calypso Planner 7.6 Simulation – Incorrect Coordinates

Hello, Zeiss forum members!

I'm facing an issue while setting up the simulation in Calypso Planner 7.6. I've configured everything correctly, including the dimensions of the RDS XXT head, but when testing the stylus positioning, it does not move to the correct coordinates.

Here’s what I’ve already tried without success:
✔️ Probe calibration
✔️ Configuration of RDS XXT head dimensions
✔️ Review of the stylus system definition
✔️ Verified software updates
✔️ Checked simulation settings

Despite all of this, Calypso does not apply the necessary correction to position the stylus correctly. Has anyone encountered this issue and found a solution? Is there a specific adjustment I should try?

I’d appreciate any help!

Rauch, Miguel

Hi Miguel,

When you say you have configured the RDS XXT head dimensions are you using the following under Extras > Settings > CMM > Stylus System > Xs: 0 +Xm, Ys: 60 -Ym, and Zs: 188.1 -Zm as detailed in CALYPSO Planner Simulation Set Up

It is crucial that the steps are executed in the correct order for the RDS-XXT simulation to function properly.

The steps are as follows:

1. Configure the machine with RDS-XXT.

2. Establish the connection.

3. Import the master probe (ssc).

4. Qualify the master probe.

5. Calculate the fitting position.

Once these steps are completed, the simulation can be started, or additional stylus systems can be loaded. If you skip a step, it is advisable to start with a new machine tab configuration as it can be more default to correct a broken tab then simply start from the beginning.

Hi Charlie,

Thank you for your detailed instructions. I followed them carefully, and they worked perfectly! The setup went smoothly, and everything is functioning as expected.

I really appreciate your guidance and support. Let me know if there's anything else I should keep in mind.

Best regards,
Miguel

Dear,

i follow your step. It's not clear that step4 and step5 for me. Can you help explain?

4. Qualify the master probe.

5. Calculate the fitting position.
