Notes inside of a program

Is there a good way to add notes inside of a program, like a Notepad type of function? Specifically, I would like to be able to add a record of scan setting inside of a program.

Hi Brian.  There is a possibility to add notes to a project template such that you can see them when you are selecting the template to run the program from. Its a bit clunky but i think its a reasonable option.

Depending on your task maybe the usage of annotation label could be a reasonable solution too. If you have templates and the note you like to take is always the same  James solution could be a good idea. If not maybe annotation labels could help you.
