[Al...]
Hello, Does GOM Inspect 2022 support creating a camber line on a scripted actual section? At first glance it seems this is not supported but I would like to make sure there aren't any specific requirements that my scripted actual section is missing. Regards, Alec
[Je...]
Hey Alec, is your scripted section a closed and pure 2D section? You might give a try to project your scripted section onto a related plane (eg. fitting plane based on the scripted section). Hope this helps - Jens
[Al...]
Thanks for the suggestion Jens. The section is not a closed section and it may be made of multiple segments. I found that when I constructed my scripted actual section using normals and coordinates from a curve element as input, the section could not be recognized as an airfoil profile. When I used the normals and coordinates of a section element as input, the result was recognized as a section. I wonder if the ordering of the points and section segments was different with the curve, perhaps that could affect the result? In any case I have found a solution that works for me using the data from a section element as input and projecting the scripted section onto a plane before creating the camber line.
