Having two models in the same program

Hello everyone,

I am trying to run two of the same parts in the same program. The reason being it is a small part and instead of having needing a lot of fixtures, I am trying to have one fixture with 2 pieces instead of one.

The problem being is when I try to create a new alignment for the second part, the result are usually bad.

Is there a problem with my approach or is it an alignment issue?

The example I attached is a rough alignment I am testing out ( I did try to set up a complete DRF before and the results are still bad)

I also made sure the two CAD are still separated and not merged into one.

Thank you.

Im trying to work my way around having the pallet running one piece at a time.

If my program can simultaneously run 2 pieces, I can double the amount on the pallet. (At least thats the theory)

Is it mirrored part or just turned around Z axis?

As far as i know you can not have more models used as "workpiece" - you would need to merge it.
From your initial screenshot you have something bad in alignment1 - perhaps wrong primary plane. If your cylinder2 is used in alignment1 then it should have correct A1,A2 and location.
Are you sure you are using correct evaluation ( like tangential )?

It the same part & the same evaluation for both.

I think Calypso doesn't do well when there are two separate models. I was just trying to reduce the amount of fixtures needed, but if it doesnt work out then I will run one piece per fixture.

Don't get me wrong, but your actuals for Cylinder2 in Alignment1 doesn't match with nominals -> something wrong is in Alignment1. You should have similar actuals as for Cylinder1 in Base Alignment. This is have nothing to do with models.

Models will be in play for surface profile with selected face.
