[Ro...]
I am having a hard time trying to understand something here and am pretty sure that someone here will know the answer for me. I am reporting the True Position of features on a part. They are called out for both MMC and MMR. I use the GD&T Position, select MMC and MMR accordingly. I do not have additional reporting selected so the X Y and Z are not being reported, however the diameters are being reported, along with the TP and TP (M). The real question I have is why is one of the diameters reported with the MMC/R is different than when it is reported as a diameter. I have looked at the MMC/R diameters and they are correct. I have looked at the actual feature and it is correct. Also, the symbol for the TP is not normal, it is a notebook page. I know that our IT did an update over the weekend. Could this have something to do with this. We have been having problems ever since then where the program was set to degrees/minutes/seconds, then after the update, it went to decimal degrees with nobody changing anything. Also, the CMM Type on the header was always the serial number of the machine. Now it is 000000-COM_2014_G2-CO... Just seems to be some strange things happening ever since the update. Should I close out the program and restart the computer? Would that help?
[Ri...]
The difference is most likely your GD&T Position is following a standard. Calypso default setup is ISO, but can be changed to ASME. Inside of the GD&T Characteristic, click on the Light-Bulb next to the Actual value, it will show you what standard you are evaluating to. It will also show you the evaluation methods for each feature. If you switch to Loose it will change the evaluation methods back to Gaussian, but even inside of a standard you can switch the evaluation method by right-clicking on the feature and switching from Suggestion to your preferred method. If you want to switch the measurement plan from ISO to ASME and vice-versa, go to Resources - Characteristics Settings Editor - Characteristics(Settings for evaluation) - GD&T Standard and change the Set To.
