Convert a STEP file to a SAT file

Hello,

I wanted to ask if anyone has any ideas on the most cost-effective way to convert a STEP file to a SAT file?

I don't have a Calypso license to import a STEP file. I have now downloaded FreeCAD, but I am unable to convert a STEP file to a SAT file here.

Are there any other options?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Anja,

I could be, that you have a way across few walls. Ask design team in your company.

I have always converted them in Solid Works.  I think about the only way is through a CAD program to open it then save it as a SAT file.

I've tried to find this program earlier ( 1year+ ), but never found - do you have a link to download?

Is it just this one time you need to convert? Send your Aftermarket Rep or the Hotline the file. We can convert it for you and send it back.

You may receive an error message if you also have Calypso installed on your computer. You'll need to adjust the environment variables. You need to place (.\Spatialx64\code\bin;.\HOOPS;) at the beginning.

Edit enviroment variables -> System variables -> Path

Ah. I didn't open the Path variable and notice it at the end.

Then I ran into the fun part of the variable string being too long. Hahaha.

As we are handling different type of CAD-formats and Calypso only support Acis (without paying a tons of money), we are in the process of evaluating the TransMagic software to be able to be more efficient.
