[Ja...]
Where does Calypso get its’ starting size from – The master probe, or the artifact (I think some people call it a qualification sphere)? Scenario 1: The master probe is a known size and tells Calypso what size the artifact is. The artifact is then used to determine the size of the other probes. Scenario 2: The artifact is a known size and is used to determine the size of all the probes including the master probe. Which scenario is correct? Or is there another one I haven’t thought of? Popular Post [Ri...]
Scenario 2. This is why it is called a qualification and not a calibration. The Reference Sphere is known for its size and form. The MasterProbe tells the machine where the reference sphere is in CMM coordinates - it is the 0, 0, 0 for all styli. Based on the probe qualification, we quantify what the size, form, and location of every stylus. 5 Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/24601-calibration-origin/#findComment-139147 Share on other sites
