[Ja...] Posted September 29 Share Posted September 29 Where does Calypso get its’ starting size from – The master probe, or the artifact (I think some people call it a qualification sphere)? Scenario 1: The master probe is a known size and tells Calypso what size the artifact is. The artifact is then used to determine the size of the other probes. Scenario 2: The artifact is a known size and is used to determine the size of all the probes including the master probe. Which scenario is correct? Or is there another one I haven’t thought of? The Reference Sphere is known for its size and form. The MasterProbe tells the machine where the reference sphere is in CMM coordinates - it is the 0, 0, 0 for all styli.
