Measuring something bigger than the table...

Hello fellow metrologists,

I have a question regarding something that would need the moving of the product halfway during the measurement. In one example, my plate to be measured is bigger than the table. I have an O-inspect 543, but the product is 508x508. The product fits on the table, but it's not within reach to measure the outside. And of course, to further complicate matters, the symmetry of the outside contours of the product are datum A and B. Is there any way to go about this? Stitching up two coordinate systems or something, so that I measure one side, later measure the other, and then calculate everything?

In another example the plate fits easily, but I have to measure the top first, and later the bottom. There are features on the top that correspond to the bottom. How do I evaluate this?

Thanks for your help in advance.

There is an option of Base Alignment match, but I've tried using it once or twice and never had much luck. I generally had two separate programs and somehow related measurements to features that I could measure in both programs. But since it happened very rarely I could spend some time calculating the needed dimensions.

Neither are, unfortunately.

I'd have to look into that. It happens more than I like here, something about Sales people and lack of communication. But yeah, thanks.
