[Je...]
Lord Eric, Once again, I bow to your greatness. Thanks for pointing out the test environment for Dark Mode. You should visit this forum more often and post more YouTube content. I appreciate your knowledge and creativity.
Popular Post [Je...]
Please sign in to view this username. , If you get this, please forward to your development team that is working on Dark Mode in Calypso: Many people are excited about Dark Mode, as it is the most voted-for idea on "My Voice." Because of this, I encourage you to see how other software implements Dark Mode. It's not simply about inverting the colors. Borrow from the best rather than develop in isolation. For example: 1. Dark Mode is usually not fully-black for the background. The sweet spot is usually somewhere close to: 25 Red, 25 Green, 25 Blue 2. Contrast and color are subtle but important refinements. Dark mode is not the same as "High Contrast." The reason many people flock to it is because of the ergonomic benefits, namely eye strain relief and faster recognition of on-screen elements (buttons, borders, scroll, etc.) 3. This is a fabulous opportunity to add color distinction and other needed refinements back into icons in Calypso. You're not admitting defeat--you're proving that listening to the Voice of the Customer matters to Zeiss. 4. There is no greater aspect to modern software design than the user experience, and GUI is a foundational contributor the user experience. It's not just about what your software can do... it's about how it does it. I appreciate all that you do for your user community, and I sincerely thank you. [Je...]
Please sign in to view this username. , Would I be asking too much if I asked for color templates or even customizable templates: Ultimately, I just want Zeiss to include a wide representation of users when designing and improving their software. When they make important improvements such as GUI, they should have actual CMM programmers from multiple countries and industries testing them and providing feedback. 2
[Ch...]
would be trivial in my opinion for them to also implement a color picker as well as dark mode. Let the theming begin !!!!!! Neon glow here I come ... lolol.... Edited October 7
[Ma...]
I am curious as i often hear ZEISS want to implement Calypso into Inspect software. I think as there are many "haters" of Calypso then they would protest and would want to keep Calypso as stand alone
[Sv...]
I'm based in Germany and using Calypso 2025 with Service Pack 1. Unfortunately, I don't have this special menu and I can't test the dark mode.
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. The special menu is a customizable menu that is activated by placing a text file named specialmenu.txt in the Calypso folder. The real magic happens inside that file. You need to fill it with the correct internal Calypso function calls to make something happen.
[Ri...]
And the "correct internal Calypso function calls" are? Inquiring minds want to know. 😉
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. They are whatever you like and whatever is useful. That's why it's called customizable 😁 The format of the file is simple: Name of menu item followed by a "=", followed by the function call. That's the technical description. But that doesn't mean that I know of any useful stuff to put there. I'm not even sure if what was shown in that video was really a "hidden" part of an already existing official Calypso release or if it was "custom code". Only the "Lord" knows 😄

[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Judging by the video comments it's already in there. Unfortunately I haven't installed Calypso 2025 yet, so I can't check. Guess you all need to say more prayers then. 🙄

You can see it's WIP, but perfectly usable. Just a little bit more contrast on the icons and it will be perfect. Thank you!
