[Mi...]
Hello! After the PC malfunction was fixed (the SSD disk lost its partitions), the Calypso program stopped running on the computer. At startup, she writes that she cannot find the basic license. Using the license manager program, we received the file "activation_request.xml " and they tried to upload it to the website https://portal .zeiss.com/software-license/activation in the hope that we will receive the activation file "response.xml "but the website only says that this product is activated! I tried it in the same place on the page https://portal .zeiss.com/my-messages/mixjpr5 I have asked for technical support, but they have not responded to me so far, starting from June 5, 2025. I started writing to the German representative office of Zeiss by e-mail, then to the Swiss, Brazilian and some others, but everywhere they either do not respond or write that they cannot help in any way. Then I came across links to this forum in the search engine. I have read messages with similar problems as I have with the license for Calypso. The answer is the same everywhere - call Zeiss, but I don't speak a foreign language enough to communicate on the phone - it's easier for me to text through an online translator! Is there a way to get a file using this forum? "response.xml "? Best regards, Mikhail
[Br...]
Hello Mikhail, Is your system a dongle based or PC bonded license?
[Je...]
You have a PC-Bonded license based on your message that the activated version was deleted when you swapped your hard-drive (this is why I prefer dongle 🙂 ). You will need to reach out to your ZEISS support team and request they manually return your license so you can reactivate it. They will ask some questions to validate the request. I wrote above that I have already exhausted all methods of contacting, except for calling Zeiss, but I do not speak a foreign language well enough to communicate on the phone. Here on the forum I came across posts where the same problems were addressed and unsubscribed - send your Calypso data to the personal account for help! So I also decided to do the same, in case they help solve the problem. No, the hard drive was not changed, only the image of the working system made earlier from it was deployed using the Acronis program, but for some reason, after the restoration, Calypso lost its license! [Mi...] Posted yesterday at 03:46 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 03:46 AM The most incomprehensible thing in this whole story is why, when restoring the system from a backup, the license for Calypso disappeared somewhere!?
[No...] Posted yesterday at 06:37 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:37 AM (edited) The distinction between dongle and PC bonded license is easy: If there's no USB license plug attached to the computer (when in doubt, also check inside the PC case!) it's PC bonded. The license utility or the license tab in Calypso should also have this information. Under which circumstances a PC bonded license becomes invalid depends on which system parameters it is tied to. Often such license codes are calculated from distinctive IDs of basic system components (like mainboard, harddrive etc.). But different manufacturers have different philospophies, so without knowing the parameters Zeiss' license system uses, nothing can be ruled out. But I agree, making it partition dependent would be rather stupid. Are you sure each and every file in the backup was intact and undamaged? Acronis did not swear at any errors when restoring the disk image! All the hardware is native, only the image of two weeks ago was re-deployed and that's it. Then they tried to deploy older versions a month ago, and still Calypso says at launch that give me the key. We even deployed the very first disk image, which was left over from the installation supervisor, and the same result! We contacted him via messenger, he writes that he no longer works at Zeiss, but when he trained the operators during the KIM startup, they repeatedly deployed his very first image to disk and everything was fine! Why now, with the same actions, Calypso does not find a license, he does not know!
[Mi...] Posted yesterday at 09:21 AM Author Share Posted yesterday at 09:21 AM (edited) By the way, I remembered what the chief installer said, that the license is linked to the MAC address, and there are two on the PC, maybe Calypso polls the wrong MAC address of the wrong network card at startup! How can I find out which of the two network cards Calypso is polling and how can I train it to poll the "right" network card?
