One other method is to create two cylinder or circle features, one for the Y- portion and the other for the Y+ portion. Then, create a third cylinder and use the "recall feature points" option. Choose the first two, measured cylinders or circles. This method emphasizes distinction between probes and clearance planes. Other strategies exist, as well.
