[Ka...]
Dear colleagues, I'm slowly getting tired of working with the planner in its current desolate state! (7.4.24) Is there any hope? What is the situation with CALYPSO 8.0? Best regards, Karsten
[Wo...]
Worse for me. The performance was abysmal at first, but got fixed (at least in my case). But now I have multiple things going wrong - probes not in the right place, can't enable "stylus only" view, stylus running in the completely wrong area of the part, importing ssc files and not recognizing created styli etc.
[Ro...]
8.0 still not working well for me either. 7.8 has been manageable at the very least.
[Ri...]
In Karsten's situation I typically see this when both "Measurement Plan Simulation" dialog box is open along with "RDS RC position" dialog box.
[Ka...]
Richard, Unfortunately, this problem keeps cropping up. Once it has occurred, it cannot be reversed. Even Zeiss support could not find a solution other than trying to reset the base system to zero. Unfortunately, this does not really help. Creating a new test plan, loading CAD from the current ACIS file, copying measurement elements and test features from the defective Programm, and redefining the base system does not help either. The only viable solution is to start completely from scratch. Zeiss promised us in 2023 that everything would be better with the new version of Planner. They also promised that our CONTURA would be implemented in its dimensions of 700x700x1000, as well as the XXT probe racks. Above all, they promised that the memory leaks would be eliminated and that there would be 100% collision detection of the entire probe/XXT plate/sensor/quill and so on. OK, a simple promise... But when I look at the reports from colleagues here who use Planner 8.0, it seems to me that the big leap forward is more like two steps back. However: never give up... [Jo...]
I am having the same issue. The initial position of the RDS is correct, but all rotations are in the wrong spot. I have tried rebuilding the machine tab, re building and re importing all the probes. Cant figure it out.
[Ka...]
Joe, We've had this happen three times already. Zeiss support in Germany couldn't help us. They told us to copy the directory C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZEISS\CALYPSO\config and delete the original config directory. Of course, this only works if the SQL server service isn't running. So you have to stop the service or restart the computer and not start CALYPSO. The support team dismissed the fact that this would require recreating the entire configuration of the machine and all button definitions with: ‘There is no other way’ and closed the ticket.
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Sad but true. The support mainly aims at a solution for your current issue, not at finding the root cause. And they are not susceptible to common sense. It was the same with my problem in Autorun (different results on different palette locations). Reestablished base alignment, it worked, case closed. That this was a fluke at best, didn't bother them. 1
[Jo...]
I just tried deleting the entire config directory and rebuilding my config. The simulation, RDS specifically, doesnt even work correctly for me with a master probe. 1) Delete entire config folder 2) Add new machine (Contura) with correct size 3) Import master probe 4) Qualify master probe 5) Click with master probe, point will be in correct place 6) Rotate master probe to any RDS angle, point will be in incorrect place. [Ka...]
Unfortunately, this sounds very familiar... Make sure you have stopped the SQL server before recreating the configuration directory. For example, restart your computer, do NOT start CALYPSO, and then recreate the directory. Now start CALYPSO. The last chance I know of to repair ‘defective’ programme is: - Load the programm. - Under Prepare->Tools, select ‘Reset base system’. - Save and exit the programm. - Load the programm. - Start Planner and keep your fingers crossed. Otherwise, call Zeiss Service and take a barrel full of hope with you!
[Ro...]
With planner being one of the so called selling points of 2025, it is sad that it is still effectively broken. At least my error message is new, for Centermax. 😐 Still doesn't properly show rotary table or base plate properly. Even tried using a Contura, and the rotary table is still not right, and baseplate is showing half of the machine. Some of my features using a 90 degree stylus and rotary table are bugged too. Stylus not in the right location, and have even seen the stylus move with the rotary table rotating... Edited 13 hours ago
