MSR 2.0 looks impressive

Hello.

Have any of you purchased the MSR 2.0 probe rack system?

It looks quite a bit more rigid than the previous version, and I like the modularity upgrades.

Just wanted to hear feedback on user experience with these.

I posted this once before.

This is the CAD model setup; it has been functional for about 6 months now?

The XXT setup at the top is manually moved into place for RDS XXT operation and manually returned for XTR operation.

Only takes a minute to move and use.

Setup on a Contura 2014 size 9/12/6

Hi

I do remember you posting about the build.  I wasn't sure if you had installed it yet.

What are your overall thoughts on the MSR 2.0?  Strengths and weaknesses?  Are there any ways you would have the manufacturer improve it?

I have a MSR 2.0 on my newer Micura, and I can’t recommend it. The MSR 2.0 takes up about 150mm of measuring space in the y-axis compared to the MSR 1.0

The only thing I think that should be changed is having the ability to adjust rack height (Especially the top rack), it is currently fixed for each height. Other than that, I currently have 6 probe holders on the top rack and 6 on the bottom rack and room to make the total count 7x7. That is a descent amount of probe holders.

The MSR2.0 gets two thumbs up.

It was less money than what I would have had to build with extrusion components, a couple hundred less.

How new is your Micura?  I believe the newer machines come with mounting holes in the granite that optimize the position of MSR 2.0.

I had to create 1-inch Risers for the MSR 2.0 due to the use of a giant Rayco plate.

Contura 2014's have mounting holes that seem to aid working area, I think mostly the dual offset tier system I lose about 75mm, but I would have to check that.
