Alignment problem

Good morning to all,

I have a problem with RPS Alignment. I have to make a alignment between a knob and the CAD and I have a problem to block the Y rotation movement. X and Y are OK, but in Z I have to put 2 points to zero and divide the errore to the others two points.

To do this I have make a first alignment where I put 1 and 2 to zero (first imagine) and a second alignment with all points, letting all the movment free exept for the X rotation (second image). The result is as visible in the third image, where it's shown the problem: the error wasn't divided in equal part.

How can I do? I watch to other alignment method, but nothing seems to be useful for me. Thank you very much!

I have problems with understanding your problem.

What i would do is using circles instead of your points 1 and 2.
Or use your RPS montaggio as first and then correct Z value by points 1 and 2.

Or if it's confidential we can go by PM

Well what i would do is making those two points in holes after the big rps.
Also i would check at measured elements to be evaluated in this first rps.

But even after that you will get different deviation because of X rotation.
Because one point on left is further from center than you second point on right side.
