[To...] Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM Hello all, I have a call out of 0 tolerance true position of a slot to datum A plane, which I just do not understand how to go about creating in calypso. I'm fairly new to the software and this call out has never crossed my path on any print. I would certainly appreciate any information that would help me Thanks, Tom Prophet
[Ma...] Posted yesterday at 03:54 PM Share Posted yesterday at 03:54 PM I will help with understanding of 0 tol. You have to use symmetry point or symmetry plane - not symmetry in construction menu. Then with MMC you can gain max .004 bonus tolerance. So if you have the smallest groove, you have to be precise. If you have the biggest groove you can be misaligned. So on .052 you have .004 tolerance On .048 you have 0 tolerance.
[Ze...] Posted yesterday at 05:36 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:36 PM The second tier is only controlling perpendicularity to -A- so you would need to measure the slot sides as planes to fulfill the print requirement. 😲
[Ri...] Posted yesterday at 05:46 PM Share Posted yesterday at 05:46 PM It's a pattern, so they have to control their position/orientation with respect to themselves.
[Ze...]
You are correct. For whatever reason I was looking at it as a continuous feature. You would still need to measure it as planes, correct?
[Ri...]
I mean "technically" you should, but given that it is only .020" deep that might pose to be a challenge.

[Ri...]
I don't think so. The Position of a CF to A would just be the orientation of the symmetric plane to A (Perpendicularity), but the Position of a 2x pattern to A would be each of their orientations to A (Perpendicularity) as well as their respective orientation and location to each other. 1
