CAD Presentation

Looking to upgrade to Calypso 2025 (8.0.1203) with our Win11 updates.

I have installed it on an offline laptop to get familiar with it and see how it imports programs.

The drawback is no output for the CAD Presentation commands on the evaluation side. I do remember hearing at the user group meeting this being an issue.

Is there any resolution we know of? I scoured the forum a bit before asking, but nothing too specific about this topic that I was able to find with my limited time.

I did read a lot of discouragement of v.2025 until the lates patches, but hoped since 2026 is coming or is out that this wouldn't still be an issue.

What is a good alternate solution to this method in the new versions?

I apologize if this is a beaten-to-death topic but I seldom use the forums.

I use Calypso 2025 and have no problems except for the CAD analysis and the fact that no probe is shown in the RDS when changing angles. However, I don't have a planner seat with simulation, so I can't comment on that. We have an SMA, so my management is behind when it comes to updates.

To be more clear, I'm speaking of the Evaluation command, "CAD Presentation" that lets you use a created/saved CAD image (usually with deviations displayed) as a picture inserted into PiWeb report (StandardProtocol). It worked well in all previous versions I'm familiar with. It "runs" with no runtime errors, but leaves the PiWeb report blank in that area. It lists the feature but fails to display the image as normal. It even lets me create a new feature in this version as normal, but still does not produce an image on PiWeb.

I am using a "Planner" offline key to test it, but I don't think it has any bearings on whether it would be better or worse on a machine license.

Like I said, I had heard that it was "broken" this version, but hoped it was 'fixed' by 2026 (or end of 2025 updates).

If this specific feature does not work, how does one display the plotted images of CAD deviations from Freeform Profiles onto a report in this version??

If you are able to create CAD Presentations, have you turned on the "Display plots in report"?

Resources

Character settings Editor

Display plots in report

Then you select any characteristic that has a CAD Presentation.

Does Exchange row template need to be checked as well?

side note, whenever I add cad presentations, my cad model becomes glitchy and rotating/moving the view isn't smooth.

This is currently a known bug and being looked at by development. In the meantime some users have luck by turning on the display option which seems to force trigger the CAD evaluation.

Hallo zusammen

Ich hoffe auf eine positive Rückmeldung.

Gruss

, We're experiencing the same bug, and it's a major letdown.  The error appears to be on the PiWeb side of things.  CAD presentation is one of the most important functions that we use Calypso for, so I hope Zeiss takes this problem seriously and fixes it.

,  thanks for the update!  It means a lot to hear updates directly from the vendor, even if "unofficial."  Shows you care.
