Z position of 3D curve

Good morning everyone,
I need to evaluate the Z position of this curve, but the measured points have their probing vector almost entirely aligned with the X axis, with little to no Z component.

I tried to request the Z displacement of the curve by applying a best‑fit alignment on the curve feature, but this led to significant deviations, on the order of several millimeters, even though the machining allowance was practically zero.

What would be the correct strategy to reliably evaluate the Z position of such a curve when the point vectors are not well oriented along Z?

Thank you!

You should correct those vectors - they are mainly used for probing forces. Otherwise you won't be able to even measure that - mainly due collisions message
