3d line path on dog gear

Howdy! I’ve got this dog gear part with a line profile callout, and I’m not really sure how to collect all the features needed to create a 3D line.

I’m trying to create a scan path along the red line shown in the image. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Side question: What’s the best way to mask out small point sections in the bottom corners to help with evaluation?
