CMM program wants a probe that isn't in the program.

I have this one stubborn program, every time I open it, I am warned that a probe is not available.

Combo86R-2

It is not used in the program; it has never been used in the program.

Any ideas on how I may be able to find a rogue entry in some file?

Have you checked the stylus system dropdown in the measurement plan editor features?

I know that probe names show up in the inspection file if I search for them.

Have you checked which stylus is used under "Meaasurement Plan Editor Features"?

Or are there any known position points that might have been misassigned?

I have checked the obvious, Measurement Plan Editor, no entries shown.

I did find entries in "inspec" and "inspection" files.

Editing those entries caused some weird problems (Altered the entries to be Combo86R). 😂

I could not find an "#identifier" within plus or minus 30 lines of the "Combo86R-2" line.

CMM positions and start/end park positions are sneaky places where probes can be assigned, but are not visible via the Plan Editor.

could also be hiding in an 'intermediate point' in a strategy , perhaps you wont see that in the plan editor.

I've had this happen occasionally while opening and reviewing strategies etc.

with a copy of your program, defined new elements for the aligment and erase all the other element and try to launch the program, if the problem is still there it's not cause of an element, if the problem disappear, do the same thing again and erease just half of the other element (and a quarter and a 1/8....) to find the problem element.

Sounds like the stowaway onboard your program is doing a good job at hiding.

You've checked the obvious places.

Any stones left unturned as pcm in comments or stylus qualifications or shady, dimly lit taverns?

I have run into this as well and am curious about the fix in your situation.

One suggestion that I can provide is that sometimes groups can hold the stylus name in them, even when not all the sub-features are set to the stylus system. You should have stumbled upon this in the MMPE, so I don't believe this helps you. You could try removing any grouped features and regrouping them maybe.

I've found that in "inspection" file there is twice section of "OMTecSafety" in which is one probe system and i secondary there is another probe system. All other features have only one definiton of that "OMTecSafety"

Not sure how that happened, but Richard has my findings even which feature it is, so i hope it will be founded.

I did not think about groups, according to Martin, the offending feature is in a group.

Unfortunately, I can't send you this program, I had to prove US citizenship to be able to work on this project.

Its T.S.N.S.

Do you know the feature which causes the problem? To my mind the technology of this feature has another safety data entry. If the probe system of this one differs to the assigned system of the safety data on top of the technology, this special probe system won't show up at the measurement plan editor features and so on. The only message you get is that this probe system is not available.

It may be "Plane1ba".

Martin's data seems to lean on that feature.

And I just found the problem.

Inside of Plane1ba is an extra Clearance Data and guess which probe is attached to it.

I have no clue how an extra Clearance Data was added or how it would have been assigned a probe that isn't being used. 🫣
