I have an ATOS Template setup, recently we had our frame have photogrammetry. Is there somewhere i can read over the steps to import that ref frame points and align it to the current location of the scan?

Hi,

i was able to do that like this.

  1. have a CAD model of that frame ( to be able to do alignment )
  2. scan that frame with ref. points on that frame
  3. do an alignment in which you will export data
  4. export all ref. points ( it's a xml so you can easily remove unwanted ref. points )
  5. now you can import that fram in setings.

All you have to do is correctly set temperature and material in export and import.

We have a REFXML but when we import it to our system, it is no where near our 0,0 on the 300mm plate. is there a way to align that REFXML to the frame CAD model in the ATOS project?

Hi Dustin,

I think easiest way would be this function:

https://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2026/article/cmd_manage_alignment_replace_initial_alignment_with_best_fit_by_reference_points.html

this might also help:

ZEISS Quality Tech Guidehttps://techguide.zeiss.com/en/zeiss-inspect-2026/article/cmd_cad_transform_reference_points_to_fixture.html

The reference points are transformed together with the mesh, so depending on the alignment they might be not on the fixture when the part mesh is aligned to the CAD.
