Measuring hexagon

Hi All,

I am a beginner to zeiss inspect software.
I want to measure dimension of the hexagon on my part.
I have access to CAD file but it doesn't contain PMI tags. I need to manually construct the features on CAD first before inspecting on actual part.

How can I do it on zeiss inspect optical 3D 2026?

I don't know how to correctly measure this, but you can make sections to get hexagon and evaluate that.

Or measure distance of two opposing planes via symmetry plane and GD&T

Never seen "HEX" in a drawing or standard as a defined term.

There should be the appropriate standards mentioned on the drawing, that tell you how to interpret this.

Otherwise what martin said.

  • 2 weeks later...

That's a classical linear size with some extra information that is not very relevant for the process itself.

So the way to solve this would be GD&T Quick Creation -> Independency principle (as we have here an ISO based drawing) -> Select 2 planes -> Right click -> Enter given tolerances -> Done.

Repeat until all three possible linear sizes are covered.

Hope that helps

Best regards

Dinko
