Line profile for a radius

Hi,

Can you please help me with an idea of how to measure a profile on a radius form certain points?

So i have 11 points that are already defined on the radius and i want to construct a curve from this points and measure line profile.

It is ok to use construct curve or smoothed spline curve?

Thanks

Ciprian

Hi Florin,

i am not sure if it even makes sense to create a curve with so few points and evaluate it, because most of the what you are going to evaluate will be "not really exisiting".

You could instead evaluate the position of each point and the result would be the worst deviation.

I have a specification and i need to use those points as i have to compare the results with same method, same points on CMM. I measured also position for each point and i have the same result with line profile

Thought so, remnants of an old measurement with a switching sensor on a cmm 🙂

If the results for postions and the curve you build are the same, then use it the way you have it set up and do a measurement comparision with 10 parts (Evaluating the max diff between both system)

Best would be to track both the curve results and the position rssults just in case.

I still don't understand your measurement.

If it's defined radius then don't bother with a curve. If you need to set datum for that by those 10 points, then do that ( example: by besfitting those points ).
