[Ch...] Posted July 3 Share Posted July 3 Hi, regarding creating a SP (not a line profile) where the actual data are only a point cloud. One word in advance: you will still need a mesh based CAD. Surface Profile from Point-Cloud to Point-Cloud makes no sense. The following steps should be working. 1) Create your Surface Points on Actual Data 2) Create a Point Cloud based on these surface Points (Construct -> Point Cloud -> Discrete Point Cloud From Selection). Hint: To select single points please select them in the explorer, press the right mouse button and choose Select All Points From Element) 3) Create an Patch Compound on your CAD. 4) Choose measuring principle Fitting element (switch your target inside the measuring principle dialog to the actual Point Cloud created in step 2) 5) Create your SP as usual. Yes, it is complicated but this is not a standard workflow. To my understanding if you have mesh data it should always be the way to go to use all points.
