Measurement plan default settings - how to customize more?

Hey gang. Hoping to poll our collective knowledge of Calypso to optimize my workflow. I've already implemented a a lot of default settings, but there's a list of things I adjust in basically every program I create. I just want them to be pre-set when I start a new measurement plan. I've consulted all available official documentation and can't find a way to force these particular settings by default.

Here's the list of stuff I adjust in every program:

  • Block edges other than Z+ - I can count on one hand the number of times I've needed the CMM to rapid below the Z+ clearance plane. Any marginal time saved is not worth the collision risk to me.
  • Set CNC start values - Why do these reset every time? I NEVER want to run in order of the characteristics list, I rarely want to go slow through the first feature, I obviously always want to clear existing results the first time I run the program.
  • Set header parameters to force input
  • Turn on additional report
  • Turn on display plots (PiWeb)
  • Exchange row template (PiWeb) - These three go together. At my current shop, we do small volume runs and lots of R&D. Why does it default to reporting the least amount of data? I'd rather manually reduce the amount of info I'm reporting than have to remember to turn it all on for every program.
  • Set warning limit to 75% - shop policy

These are the invariable things I do EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Combined with the large amount of context dependent settings I have to adjust, I often find myself forgetting some of these before my initial run.

Other settings that are more context dependent, but would be nice to have default for 90% of programs:

  • loop base alignment - I want this on by default, even if I have to adjust it.
  • plot min/max points for surface profiles - I want this any time I report a surface profile
  • add a second PiWeb protocol to multiple report - I almost always want a trend chart in addition to the results report.
  • CAD boundary color - this appears to be set to black by default but for some reason every CAD model imports with white edge lines. May be caused by our models, not Calypso.

Does anyone know of a way to adjust the default state of any of these settings? Even if I can only set one of them to default, it would be super helpful so I don't have to remember to change all of them for every measurement plan.

You can set all of the top portion with a "Master Template" and have Calypso automatically open it when it starts up. Then you can just do a file save-as once it's open. I just tested it with all of the top portion you requested.

You're the GOAT Roy. This is a real "why didn't I think of that?" situation. Wishing I had just asked you this last year when you sold us (Astranis) a Spectrum lmao.

If anyone reading this is in the SF Bay Area and you somehow don't already know Roy, he's the man. Buy from him!
