Two observations:

(1) It's interesting that they marked the release date as October 14th. I'm quite certain it wasn't available until today, November 3rd.
(2) It's also interesting that they labeled it Calypso 2027, but I can understand the marketing implications.

Oh well. I'm looking forward to testing it out!  Thanks, Calypso development team for your efforts.  Greatly appreciated.

Considering how the release of 2025 went, it's entirely possible that they added the feature, but forgot the switch 😉 Can't test it out for now, still waiting for the license update thru the portal. It was "in progress" and it switched back to "Update available".

I found it—it was a bit hidden. Extras - Environment - Font - View

I generally love dark mode everywhere... but here in Calypso, I don't think it looks very good; it’s not a "soft" black, but rather pitch black, and the contrast isn't well executed. Still, I suppose it’s better than nothing.

Frankly, I wonder where the good old color preferences of the 90s and 00s have vanished to. Back then you could set up your Windows GUI in the weirdest colors if you wanted to, and many applications allowed the same. Making a dark mode yourself was as easy as moving a bunch of color sliders around. But then somebody (the Illuminati?) decided that every OS and every application on this planet should have no more than two color designs - bright and dark. What gives?

Just tested it and seems marginally better than the dark mode from "special menu" in previous releases. The other things I've noticed is that the model rotates weirdly when holding RMB. I've opened the same plan in 2025 and the model rotates as they did for the past 15 years. So they've definitely changed something. Also there seems to be a weird input lag when rotation the model, it's smooth but slow. I've only tested in on the Offline PC, but I wonder how it would behave on different hardware configurations. I'm not brave enough to put it on production PCs just yet.

Yea it is very hideous. They got it right for the features tab and such, but the rest is too dark for black and too bright on the white. Guess it was too hard to look at dark mode for other software, and come closer to that, instead of some weird high contrast black/white from generic windows themes.

Yea I am experiencing the same with rotation.

Testing out simultion now, just to see how it works. First thing I noticed, that my cad model changed in look right away, when starting the simulation. If I cancel it goes back to the view I started with. All the boundry lines disappeared. It's like it changed the view quality, dynamically, to avoid overtaxing the vram on my GPU. If that is the intent, and working properly, I like that. I can program and see the cad clearly when programming, but visual quality means nothing as long as the boundries are correct, for simulation.

I think I’ll go back to 2025. The "traffic light" indicator often disappears, and when I try to bring it back, I get error messages. Also, a program written in 2023—which includes CAD analysis and always ran smoothly in 2025—no longer works in 2027. It crashes at the end with an error, and I have to force-close it via the Task Manager.
