[Be...] Posted June 23, 2021 Share Posted June 23, 2021 Hi, it is something comparable like the ICP. We try to find a transformation which minimizes the sum of the squared deviations from the actual point cloud to the nominal one. The deviations are calculated from the actual point cloud to the triangle surface structure of the nominal CAD. The Bestfit-Option in the Prealignment does the Local-Bestfit calculation automatically after a successful prealignment calculation. The only difference is that automatically all points are used (in the Local Bestfit you can specify the areas which shall be considered via point selection) and the maximum search distance is automatically estimated from internal parameters from the prealignment step.
