Coordinates Issue in Surface comparison & Surface Point

1. When DN Calculated on Surface point (Measuring principal Intersection with mesh/ Project on actual ) & on Surface comparison (On CAD) with the exact same coordinates why it shows different results.
2. Is it possible to evaluate Surface Profile on surface created with selected points.

regarding 1:

we are calculating for each vertex of the nominal CAD a deviation result. If you specify a point which is located on the surface an interpolation of all nearest point members are calculated (visualize the 'Mesh structure' on your CAD to get some information about the sampling of the CAD points). Furthermore the surface deviation is usually calculated as nearest distance to the actual surface data. 'Intersect with mesh' calculates the difference in the direction of the nominal normal which can also lead to a different result.

regarding 2: You can create a 'Surface profile' on nominal patch compounds which are "linked" via point selection to a subset of the mesh data. If you edit the actual surface element you are able to modify the point selection to your needs.
