[gr...] Posted October 21, 2024 Share Posted October 21, 2024 Hello Everyone our head seems to be on it's way out.It struggles to lock into position sometimes and errors out. We Have a quote from Zeiss for a new one which is around 13 500.They want another 7000 for installation anyone swapped RDS head on their machine?We did that on Pc dmis cmm's and it was a 20 minute job. Sounds like the gears (which are aluminum) have possibly stripped out the teeth. [Mi...] Posted October 22, 2024 Share Posted October 22, 2024 When was the last time it was serviced? as part of the service the Tech's can run a program called W3 and one of the things that does is reteach all the locking positions. We have an RDS that was crunchy and failing 3 years ago that's been working fine since having this done. This cannot be achieved by anyone but an official ZEISS service tech.
