[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. No I don't. 🤠 Of course I can't say anything about the North American market. We pay something around 4k EUR per year and CMM for our SMA. A new Calypso license is roughly 25k. So what you are saying is, I could buy Calypso 2024 for 25k in 2024, then work with it for say, 6 years without any upgrade, then install Calypso 2030, buy an SMA and get the new version for 4k instead of 25k? If that is true, I'll terminate my German contracts tomorrow and order them in NA from now on. 😮

[Mi...]
Please sign in to view this quote. I can unofficially confirm that is how it works because we did it recently. The only places we paid more than the standard SMA renewal was where we added PCM. Side note if you have old machines, when you do an upgrade, buy dongles and have the new licenses made for the dongle at the time you renew the SMA. PC Bonded licenses are a pain and newer Zeiss employees seem to forget they exist. We had so much hassle with PC Bonded machines being sent Dongle licenses, then Zeiss trying to say we lost dongles.... even though Version 4.0 didn't have them lol
[Je...]
. Please sign in to view this quote. . Great point, Mike, and I fully agree. Dongle licenses are the way to go.
[Ro...]
Yes, I really do not like PC bonded licenses. Our lone Hexagon machine is PC bonded, and changing out for a new PC is a pain.
[No...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Sorry, I had lost track of this thread. If this is really true, then wow! 😮 Here in Germany maybe they won't charge for a fully new license of Calypso, but you need to pay an extra amount for the the time the SMA was paused. For anyone who has ran into this issue as I have, now twice, while installing either v2022 and v2024 with previously installed Calypso versions this is what I had to do to get SQL SDCO re-installed and start over. See attached Word document. Note: The zip file is a "Registry" file.
