NAVIGATOR LICENSE

Well I have upgraded to Calypso 2023. Calypso 2018 had calculation button for speed and now Calypso 2023 showed greyed out. I'm told that I must purchase a NAVIGATOR LICENSE for it. The quote was beyond my expectations. The question, is it worth to have it?

First things first, check License Manager to see if license was installed. Then, check Extras > Settings > Miscellaneous to see if Navigator is active

You obviously had it before so, maybe they forgot to update the new license with it?
Might give them a call and find out if they just missed it and will give it to you.
Being an existing customer, they should have known what you were replacing when you got the quote for 2023.

I have attached the manuals for the Navigator and Performance options (often bundled). These are also located on your PC if CALYPSO is installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\Zeiss\CALYPSO #.#\userinfo\manuals\en-US

Generally, the value of the option is left to the user as its applications are specific. Not all users will see value in the options where as others would have severe performance or efficiency impact without them (such as FlyScan, Dynamic qualification and Tangential Probing)

Generally, if you are using a VAST or VAST XT/R then the benefits are significant. The use of XXT sensor is not quite as impactful as some of the functionality does not apply to the XXT specifically but many programmers prefer using the setting for automatic speed/step width generation.
