Curve and right angle

I am trying to scan a curve around a 90 degree corner but the probe is trying to cut the corner short and run into the material. Is there a rounding corners setting somewhere that I can shut off? I have basically been asked to measure the edge of a .025" thick butterknife.

Try unknown contour with slow speed. Otherwise you would need to add small radius to corner or add one 45° point

Just thinking out loud. Is the knife edge Sharpe, rounded or flat? If it's on the flatter side and .025" thick, I wonder if you could
scan a curve along the knife edge and use the knife edge point(s) that intersect with the original curve points, recalling them into a constructed curve?

It's actually a stamped lamination. There is a roll over edge on one side and burr edge on the other. Someone suspects that there is a curve at the edge that shouldn't be there and they want me to scan it on the CMM. I wanted to tell them that I can't do that on the CMM but I have to give it a try. I tried splitting the curve into two sections so it scans up one side and over the edge but instead of trying to go back down the other side it starts at the bottom, comes up and over the edge of that side too. I can see the probe gets lost and I have to cancel. I turned on show probe object and on the screen you can see the probe comes close to the top and then runs through the material like it's tryin to cut the corner. I am not sure why. I have the point density turned up so there is 4 or 5 points on the edge and there is more points to take before before reaching the corner. I should have saved some screen shots.
