Scan model deviation

Recommended Posts

Good Morning,

I'm looking to compare scan data of a combustion chamber surface to the actual model (marked with the **). Would best method be sectioning the surfaces in creating features and scanning 2D curves? I imagine you would have to section with close to proper vectors as the surfaces undulate. Also, what would be some proper setting in evaluation to make sure you get the proper surface comparison? (radius corrections, best fit, etc...)

Note: I do not have Line scan capabilities. I also do not have FreeForm Surfaces under special geometries. It's grey shaded. 😐

Thanks!

After a few years inspecting EDM mold surfaces, I would say the individual space points would work quite well. It's easy and the cad evaluation and cad views can give a very good graphic representation on your parts condition. Space points show stock amounts and are already at the correct vector.
