examining CAD model before inspection

Hello everyone,

I am wondering that is there  a  function in GOM Inspect  to check or examine the  CAD model  before inspection taken place.  It could do something like optimizing geometry such as  deleting unnecessary points or lines on geometry or examining if any region on CAD model which is not united or not solid body or maybe detect problems with surface vectors etc. since this  could cause some specific problems in profile inspection etc.

Many thanks in advance,

Canset

Hi,

you can import your CAD-File in into the 'Clipboard' and delete unnecessary elements or structures before you move your CAD (or other imported elements e.g. via FTA)  into your part.

But consider: GOM Inspect is no CAD program. If you have to modify your data you need a corresponding CAD program.

Hope this helps?!

Regards,

Bernd

Hi Bernd,

Thanks for the response but I am looking for something more specific  like detecting anomalies in surface vectors  or examining geometry to detect the  regions which are not united.

Many Thanks,

Canset
