Changing Employee Names

Using older Calypso software and have had a few employees come and go. Would like to be able to edit/change names in the drop down when different employees are running the programs. That way they don't have to keep typing in their names and can pick from the drop down window.

You need to edit your userfields.ini file. It is just a text file that contains your userfield data such as drop down texts and selection options. In modern versions of CALYPSO this is located at;

C:\Users\Public\Documents\Zeiss\CALYPSO\protocol\protform

Your version is under the old filepath designation but the structure is the same.

Despite this being unrelated to the current topic, I will go ahead and reply here in case someone in the future stumbles across this while searching: QS-Stat is a part of QDAS, an outside software owned and produced by Hexagon. It is not a part of Calypso, nor has it ever been. The interaction between Calypso and QDAS is only that Calypso can produce files usable by QDAS, which is what the QS-STAT interface does(see page 11 of the attached document). This interface is built into Calypso but requires a license.

We have a new employee and I went to add their name to our list. Now when I try and run a program I am getting an error message saying the following. Can anyone Help me?

Have you tried restarting Calypso?

I don't think you have something bad in that file - i presume it was working before, you just added a line.

I would try to add empty line on end of that file.

Restarted Calypso and the Computer.

It was working before just tried to add the new employee's name at the end.

Put an empty line at the end and still does the same thing.

Then i would try to save that file as ANSI instead of UTF-8 - nothing more is comming to my mind.

It should be really simple action:

  1. Open file in notepad
  2. copy last line and paste it
  3. change name
  4. save it

There should be no whitespace so "5=Phil M" ( without quotes )

Still doing the same thing. No dice.

Is there a way to just restore it to yesterday's date?

Perhaps IT can revert if system has a last version.

If you send me that file i can check it when i will be at work ( 12hours from now ) and send it back.

Just PM me or if it's not confidential you can possibly post it here.
