[Ri...] Posted September 14, 2023 Share Posted September 14, 2023 I was today years old when I learned this. We renamed our new PC within guide lines of the company IT dept. XXXX-CMM1XXXX (Real name omitted) This was completed after calibration. The next day, we could not connect to the PC. This probably explains why I have had issues with v2021 and v2022 (Planner) on my laptop. After shortening the PC name, calypso connects fine. The PC name must be no longer than 10 characters (total). I have previously inquired about the cause (it may be .NET or SQL but that isn't clear) and a resolution for this issue. That's going to be a huge problem for us and likely other large companies that have Corporate dictated naming schemes. What version did that start? I had connection issues twice with both v2021 and v2022 (v2019 would connect fine), after shortening the Laptop name, I have not had any issues. [Je...] Posted September 23, 2023 Share Posted September 23, 2023 To clear things up a bit, this isn't an issue with CALYPSO directly but with a background file utilized by CALYPSO that may be effected in non-LTSC Win10 builds using Windows Update Security updates or IT restriction policies. In numerous attempts to replicate this issue on several PCs with proper Admin privilege's and stock "factory" OS install, the issue could not be replicated with any PC-NAME combination of 11-20 characters using several base/SP combinations of CY21, CY22 and CY23.
