Offline Planner - Setting up stylus for simulation

Greetings all,
I am trying to set up a stylus with multiple angles for a VAST XXT RDS head within my offline planner without using CAA. I have created a probe/stylus with the creation tool and imported the ssc file into Calypso and it looks good (I think).

The problem I am having is adding in the angles. I am following the steps I've seen on another post here and it's pretty straight forward, however, the values are not updating within the geometry window (all values are 0.0000 except the angles specified and the vector is still at Z -1.00). I've tried recalculating the stylus data and qualifying both the Masterprobe and the current stylus in the simulation, but nothing seems to change. This issue occurs on existing ssc files as well. What else could I be missing?

Side note, if I attempt to use CAA and add the angles in that way, the simulation works just fine.

Thanks,

I do not have RDS so I don't know what levels of complication this adds to Stylus System Creator and Planner however building your probe systems and using the simulation is so well worth the effort it takes to learn. Don't get frustrated with how unintuitive the creator software is to use.

Zeiss really should be including half day of training in the Basic Training, if it's packaged right they would likely get more sales of Planner seats if it's cost savings potential was shown. You won't wreck a $10 000 Head because you forgot to change clearance plane in simulation...

RDS-XXT Simulation is definitely more difficult than VAST/XT to setup/configure but also even more rewarding in terms of its troubleshooting and navigation functionality.

Our Training teams actually hold a full 2-day training course dedicated to Planner/Simulation/SSC and I highly recommend it to anyone that programs "Offline". This is very much an area of "you don't know what you don't know" in terms of tools, functionality, compatibility and efficiency improvements.

FYI - For US customers, there is currently a waitlist to schedule the next course (which is a Live-Online course).

The articles that were linked were exactly what I was looking for. The order of operations was the main culprit as I was not prompted with the Transfer Stylus Data window when trying it on my own. Everything appears to be working as intended now.

I'll have to give those classes a look as well.

Thanks all
