Using planes to construct parallel cylinders

I noticed that I am able to use planes and other non-cylindery features for the parallel cylinders construction feature. Can anyone explain why this might be so?

My guess, recall feature points is independent of feature type.

I think you're right, David. I have not used the parallel cylinders construction much. I had not considered that parallel cylinders is recalling points from multiple features rather than recalling multiple features. The recalled features in this type of construction act more like point containers than individually defined geometries. This is probably why the software states that these cylinders should be parallel, because projection error is likely to occur otherwise.
