Save Measured Points, kind of...

I've been saving measured points for a few years now. I understand the basics. Sometimes I have to enable it first for it to work, and I accept that. I've recently had two jobs not save ALL the points. It's weird. Two different part numbers, ran fine, but when recalling the data, I didn't have geometry for a single diameter, or a single surface.

Caly v7.4.0001

Thoughts?

.

Did you change the name(s) of the features in the measurement plan? If so, Calypso will not connect the feature to the saved measuring points, so the feature will not populate actuals.

Another idea for the Zeiss portal, that should be implemented as soon as possible.
To assign some kind of IDentification links without feature names. There is probably already some, but not working with exported points yet.

Are you looking at the recalled measured points on an offline seat rather than at the CMM PC? There was a while when I would run a program on the CMM, but when I went to look for the data using the offline seat, it was nowhere to be found. I when back the CMM PC, and it was there.

Hi Eric,

Everything is done on the same computer, it's a CMM seat, not my offline seat. I can run the program, save measured points, then immediate recall them. One feature is always missing it's geometry.

Weird...

Did you checked if it's in zip archive of measured points?
As someone mentioned - when you rename feature, then it won't link data - then i go to archive and rename it.

I just want to point to direction if it's bad saving or bad loading.

It Sounds like you are manually saving your measure points. Have you tried going to Resources/Results to File, and about halfway down turn the Measuring Points form Off to On? This will automatically save the measured points after the run. I am curious if you get a different result if it's auto saved. Also with the feature in question, check how many points, and if it's scanning, how fast the feature that has missing data is travelling. If it's too fast, I have gotten errors and won't have enough data to calculate a measurement for the specific feature.

All great ideas Eric.

I've tried automatically and manually saving points, I get the same result. It's an uncomplicated, flat surface, a few thousand points are collected. The scanning strategy is typical of the rest of the part.

I'm not sure what's going on. It's probably a 2022 thing. IIRC this pc also generates reports with completely blank headers every 30 reports or so. Maybe it's just cursed....

I just updated to the newest version of Calypso. I have the actual vales set to "Actuals always in the same directory as measurement plan", under Extras/Environment/Paths. This is how it has always been set and it would put the actuals in the same folder as the program. The Folder directory is set to Zeiss/Customer Folder/program. Now it is creating a new folder with the same program name in the Zeiss folder and saving the measured results there. Is there another setting I am missing, or is this a glitch with the newest version of Calypso?
