Graphics Card for Calypso

Hi,

I have a choice of P4000, A2000, or GTX 3070.
I'm not sure if QUADRO A2000 would perform better in Calypso/Solidworks/AutoCAD vs Geforce GTX 3070.
What is your thoughts on it? Does anyone use Geforce card instead of Quadro series?

Thanks!

Quadro is always better than GTX/RTX for CAD.

Can you use an RTX 3070 with Calypso? Sure, but given the option, go with a Quadro card.

RTX drivers are designed explicitly for gaming. Quadro drivers are designed explicitly for workstation.

I was wondering because NVIDIAs website has "Game Ready" and "Studio" Drivers...

Here is a solid discussion about it.

RTX has become popular for CAD and CG because of the cost of it - especially when you talk about things like the 3090/4090 with 24gigs of VRAM.

Like I said, you can absolutely use RTX or even old GTX for CAD, but typically Quadro is going to be a much more solid choice.

Thanks, this got me to go do my own research and I have come up with concrete answer.

If you need GPU for accurate modeling aka for manufacturing parts etc (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) then Quadro series is better by far. A2000 8.0TF card beats RTX 3070 20TF card by at least 30% in those scenarios.

If however you are doing entertainment modeling/animating (3ds max, Maya) then 3070 will get about double the performance.

What I went with is 2x Xeon Gold 5122, 96GB DDR4 ECC, and A2000 6GB
