Elastic Parts setting?

Is anyone familiar with the Elastic Parts setting in the feature editor?
I know the principle and that it works for single touch points. I think it doesn't work with scanned points, as it looks like it double-touches only at the start of a path. But how about a number of single points inside a feature?
Is there any documentation or training material available?

I use elastic settings quite a bit, specifically for my Ø0.5mm Stylus.
For points in features. I can't recall using Elastic setting while scanning.
However, I have scanned with this stylus using:
Meas. force in mN 50
Probing Dynamic (in %) 50

My typical settings:
Meas. force in mN 50
Probing Dynamic (in %) 50
Elastic Parts (Force in mN) 50 100

Features I have used:
Planes
Circles
Lines
Points

I've used it for thin powdered metal parts before sintering, but only in a limited way as my understanding of it is the same as yours.

It did work as intended for point measurements, I'd love to hear from people with experience on scanning parts that may flex under the probing force.

Yes, thanks. I was able to do a few tests with single point features today and it seems to work. I'm hoping to improve some of our extra floppy parts with it. Strange. I'm measuring plastic parts for over 30 years now and never needed this before.

I use these settings on soft and hard materials.
My styli rarely break from accidental stock or side contact (Bores, walls, etc.).
And my data correlation to mechanical measurements is accurate and repeatable.
