[Cl...]
They are bringing in a new Contura as I type. For those that aren't aware, Zeiss got rid of all the ceramic, replacing it with aluminum!
[Th...]
I got to work with one during expert training a few months ago. It's cool in that shiny new toy way, but I don't actually know what might be better or worse compared to the 2014 model I have.
[To...]
We've had a 9/12/8 since last June and it's worked very well for us. The lower table takes some getting used to. It's great if you're sitting.

We plan to replace our CMMs over the next 2 years, but I don't want a cheap aluminum toy. 🤣

[Je...]
. Supposedly, the uncertainty ratio on the new Conturas is lower than all previous models. I'd be interested to see data on how they actually are performing in the field. Jeff Frodermann Meier Tool & Engineering Brooklyn Park, Minnesota . The Accura line used an aluminum bridge with CARAT technology. The Zeiss tech of course 🤣 I know, being a measurement guy, I shouldn't have to ask this: But how sensitive do you think those materials are? Let's assume somebody (not me! 😮 ) would drop a wrench or something and it hits the foam or even the aluminum parts. Would it cause permamnent damage? [Ün...]
Is it because of sensitivity to get rid of ceramics and switch to aluminum, or is it because of the ceramic shortage in the market due to the coronavirus?
