[Da...]
What is the best base alignment for the part shown ? Also how can I capture the 97° angle between the holes?Calypso Base Alignment.png
[Du...]
I would use the ID as your spatial alignment and x and y origin if you are orienting the part vertically and use the face of the part as your Z origin, You could use one of those holes as your planar rotation. I would think you should be able to use angle between features to get a result for that 97° angle.
[Du...]
Something like this should work well, i just drew up the cad model to make it easier. For the angle between features, i just used two circles at the start of each hole but the concept is the same
[Ch...]
according to the above I would not use Cylinder 1 (or any cylinder for that matter) for planar rotation as that may be causing a rotation error. Instead I would use circle 1 (or the one in +Y and choose +Y in Calypso Base Alignment as well) as refereneced above for planar 'clocking' alignment. good luck. [Da...]
Thank you everyone for the support, I went with the ID cylinder for X,Y zero and Spatial Rotation and I used circle 1 at the Y+ axis for Planar rotation and the program worked very well!
