Make a stylus system

Your colleague probably used shims so the probe angles were right when they tightened the assembly down (tighten it into spec).
I don't have a problem with it, im sure it worked so that's the main thing.

I have had custom probe mounts made by maintenance on a CNC mill before. we were running a high volume job and all the parts had 3 holes all at very specific angles, so i sketched something on a piece of paper and maintenance made it for me. Without those heads i would have had some very strange looking assemblies for sure, possibly multiple assemblies.

Roberto, WTF?? That is one of the coolest custom stylus systems I have seen. Did it work well? What size of tolerances were you verifying?

By the way, that probe holder looks like a RobertoCorp special. Have you 3D printed holders that allow for automatic pickup?

So the styli i used for the angled holes were 4mm with a 2mm shaft, this allowed for all the part to part variation.

As for the sockets......no, but i was looking at my sockets just this week and thinking how easy it would be to replicate those, but without the dust cover.
I was actually thinking how easy it would be to machine them out of aluminum.
