[Ma...]
That's a very bad drawing - against every standards 🤣 I don't see Point G - It looks like assembly - Each text for surface profile is different. In any doubts I would ask customer no matter what. This is not readable Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/9546-profile-tolerance-zone/#findComment-44490 Share on other sites
[Jo...]
I have more questions. Does the print invoke ASME Y 14.5 ? It appears they were trying to communicate an unequally disposed tolerance. I have questions concerning Datum mobility as well. What is Datum feature B ? Also Profile doesn't require simultaneous condition by default, so technically you could meet each FCF independently. is not correct See correction below Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/9546-profile-tolerance-zone/#findComment-44492 Share on other sites

[Da...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Under Y14.5 profile does have simultaneous requirements by default. From Y14.5-2018, page 80. (apologies about the scaling). It goes on to say that if a simultaneous requirement is not required, to use a note such as "Sep. Req.", which emphasizes that this is the default behaviour. ISO, however, does not require this by default. I think the intent reasonably clear - it is equivalent to a profile with a tolerance of 1.8(U)0.3 to the same datum reference frame. If this is an asme drawing, I would consider it strange and ambiguous, to the point of being wrong, and contact the design authority for clarification if possible. [Jo...]
Please sign in to view this quote. Thanks for the correction, citation David. I was mixed up 11.6.1.3 Each horizontal segment in the fcf should be verified separately only applies to composite frtz Link to comment https://qualityforum.zeiss.com/topic/9546-profile-tolerance-zone/#findComment-44502 Share on other sites
