Unlike 2 parallel planes, it seems these 2 planes could control translation in the Y axis, though I don't believe the customer is expecting this as they are using a cone in the center of the part as Datum C. [Ma...] Posted August 24, 2022 Share Posted August 24, 2022 If they want to take only rotation from that symmetry plane then i would pick cone as C too. Many times they make datums as they are used on machining fixtures. One question - how you handle circles, cylinders and cones if you have less then 180° on ASME?
